Hello everyone and welcome back from our competition weekend,
1. Performances Recap - Congratulations to the band on two very successful opening performances! We got most of the nerves out on Saturday night, and while it wasn't our cleanest show, we finished a closely contested second place in the AAAA (large schools) division and won the caption award for Best Music Performance out of all bands in all divisions that night. On Sunday, we had our cleanest and best performance to date, and we improved our score despite a tougher panel of judges and miserably hot and humid weather. We took second place to the reigning state champions Oak Creek and were very competitive with them in several captions.
2. Looking forward - The marching season is already almost over! We have just three weeks left until the state championships on October 13th. There are very few rehearsals remaining; please take special note of the "Band Camp" day next Friday. We received lots of great feedback from the judges last weekend, and that will be our big day to make our end-of-season improvements.
3. Show recording from Waukesha North - Click here for a recording of Sunday's show. The sound quality is not great but it's a good visual perspective from the judge's box. The performance starts around 5:00 into the video.
