District Solo & Ensemble - February 22, 2020
Who performs?

Participation at solo/ensemble festival is optional, but all students will be preparing at least one performance piece as part of class.

Orchestra: All Blocks (2, 3, 6) will do solos and ensembles

Band: Block 6 and 7 will be preparing solos. Block 1 will be preparing ensembles. Block 3 may choose either a solo or an ensemble.

Middleton High School, Glacier Creek & Kromrey Middle School students participate in the District WSMA Solo & Ensemble Festival at MHS.

When is District Solo & Ensemble?

Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 8 am to 4 pm

Students should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their performance time. Please Warm-up prior to your performance in the designated Warm-Up Rooms.

If your family has an immovable conflict for the entire 8 am-4 pm event, there are options to transfer solos and ensembles to other local festivals over the weeks that follow the MHS District Solo & Ensemble. Please touch base with a music teacher to inquire about this, but only if absolutely necessary.

How does sign up work?

All registration is now online! Registrations are due by January 7, 2020. If you are not yet ready to register before the break, you can wait until after the break.

Please check your email on December 20 from <> to access the registration form. This website is not allowed to publish direct links to the form.

Fees will be posted to FeePay after registration closes - no more bringing checks.

If you are performing more than one event, please fill out a separate form for each.
Reminders for Students

Orchestra: The school provides judges' copies in most cases & accompanists carry judges' copies in most cases.
-
Band: Please remember the " Judge's Copy" of your music.

Band: Class A Solos must provide their own Judge's Copy.
-
Band: Class B Solo Judge's Copies will be carried by the accompanists during the day.

Band: All Ensemble Judge's Copies will be distributed in class on the Thursday & Friday before Solo & Ensemble.

NUMBER ALL MEASURES in the music.

Students are encouraged to "dress nicely" for their performances.

Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your performance time. Please use the Warm-up rooms to practice.

Accompanists are visiting MHS as early as Thursday, February 6, 2020. Please check the schedule in the band room and bring your piano part (Class A only).

Performance schedules will be available the week of February 10, 2020.

What happens after District Solo & Ensemble at MHS?

With a qualifying score, students go to the State Solo & Ensemble Festival at UW- Platteville.
